Best 6 Berth Caravans Under 10k

Getting into caravanning doesn’t have to cost a fortune. There are plenty of gorgeous caravans available for under £10,000. Here are the best 6 berth caravans under 10k:

  • Lunar Quasar 546 (2012): £10,000 approx.
  • Elddis Avante 526 (2011): £9,500 approx.
  • Bailey Pegasus II Ancona (2011): £9,500 approx.
  • Elddis Avanté 636 (2014): £9,000 approx.

These caravans all have their advantages that make them the best 6 berth caravans available for under £10,000. Beyond nice interiors and family-friendly layouts, there’s a lot to love about these caravans.

The Lunar Quasar 546 is a single-axle, 6 berth caravan. Most of the time, you will find the 2012 edition of this caravan available for approximately £10,000.

The Quasar 546 feels spacious and has a very family-friendly layout. There are several aspects of this caravan that set it apart from many other inexpensive 6 berths on the market.

  • Lightweight: The Lunar Quasar 546 2012 has a MiRO of 1260kg, so it’s an exceptionally lightweight 6 berth caravan. The average weight of a 6 berth caravan is 1711kg, so this is one of the lightest tourers available. This makes it an excellent caravan for people owning cars with a low towing capacity, or for people who aren’t comfortable with towing.
  • Triple fixed bunks: One of the best features of this caravan is the triple fixed bunks. I think triple bunks are an excellent feature in any caravan; it’s very family-friendly, especially if you have young children. The triple bunks in the Quasar 546 are also versatile, as the bottom bunk can become a large storage space.
  • Second dinette at rear: The Quasar 546 has a second dinette at the rear, opposite the fixed bunk beds. This additional dinette is ideal for children and gives the adults in the caravan some time alone at the front of the tourer. It’s the perfect place for a sulk after a family argument! This dinette also converts into an additional single bed, offering ideal flexibility.
  • Sizeable kitchen: For a relatively small 6 berth caravan, the Lunar Quasar 546 has a sizeable kitchen. The kitchen contains a full oven, grill, microwave, fridge, and four-burner hob. Furthermore, there are numerous overhead lockers as well as drawers and a cupboard under the sink.

As far as affordable 6 berth caravans go, the Lunar Quasar 546 is one of the best. It’s a family-friendly caravan. And used along with an awning, perfect for long holidays away from home.

Elddis Avanté 526 (2011)

The Elddis Avanté 526 is a single-axle 6 berth caravan. You can usually find this model for around £9,500 depending on where you look.

There are several features that set this caravan apart from its competition. One of the key features that I really love is the fixed double bed. There are several popular caravans with a fixed double, but not many 6 berths under 10k do. In fact, the Elddis Avanté 526 was one of the first single-axle caravans made in the UK to feature a fixed bed. Here are some of the other aspects that set this tourer apart.

  • Large, comfortable front seating area: In the Avanté 526 you will find a large seating area at the front of the caravan. All caravans have a seating area at the front, but this has plenty of room for all the family. Furthermore, this sofa is very comfortable when compared to the sofas you’ll find in some caravans. Thanks to the curved corner cushions, you can make full use of the sofa in this tourer and comfort is ensured.
  • Spacious washroom: The washroom in a touring caravan is never usually anything to write home about. However, the washroom in the Elddis Avanté 526 is actually rather impressive. The floor space in the Avanté 526 is good, there is a separate shower with a bi-fold door, and there’s a cabinet and shelf for storing all of your toiletries.
  • Lightweight: This is another lightweight caravan, with a MiRO of just 1332kg. The average 6 berth caravan weight is 1771kg, so this caravan is rather light. The weight of this caravan is a big advantage for people that aren’t comfortable towing, or people that are restricted by their licence or car.

There are other notable benefits of this caravan too. For example, storage lockers and cupboards are aplenty. The only thing holding this caravan back is that it could feel more spacious. As far as I’m concerned, the reason that it doesn’t feel more spacious is the massive fixed double bed. In my opinion, the feeling of spaciousness is easy to sacrifice if you can have a fixed double bed instead.

Bailey Pegasus II Ancona (2011)

The Bailey Pegasus II Ancona is a single-axle 6 berth caravan. You can usually find this specific model for around £9,500, although it all depends on where you look. You might be able to find it cheaper if you go to a private seller rather than a business.

This is another caravan that excels in numerous ways. To be honest, it might be my favourite caravan in this blog post. It has a wide host of features that set it apart from the vast majority of 6 berth caravans available for under 10k.

Let’s take a closer look at some of the features that make this caravan such a good option for people looking at inexpensive 6 berth tourers.

  • Sizeable seating area at the front: At the front of the Ancona, there’s a sizeable U-shaped sofa that is a unique but welcome feature. Most 6 berth caravans suffer from the problem of not having enough seating for 6 people. That’s not a problem in the Ancona, as 6 adults can comfortably sit in the lounge area. There’s certainly more than enough space for a family to sit and eat in comfort. It goes without mentioning that you find high-quality upholstery in the Ancona, as the same can be said for most Bailey caravans.
  • Versatile dinette opposite the kitchen: Opposite the kitchen, there’s a dinette, which is a handy feature. I like having a dinette opposite the kitchen; it’s ideal for mealtimes where some of the family might want to eat elsewhere rather than the main lounge area. This dinette also doubles as a children’s play area outside of mealtimes, so parents can relax on the sofa and watch TV. Even better, it also converts into an additional single bed should you need it.
  • Triple fixed bunk beds: The Bailey Pegasus II Ancona features triple fixed bunk beds, a rare but welcome feature in a family-friendly caravan. No one likes the hassle of having to put the children’s’ beds together when it comes to bedtime, so fixed bunks are an excellent feature that takes the pain out of bedtime. There’s also a door that separates the rest of the caravan from the children’s’ sleeping area, giving the adults privacy and the space to relax once it’s bedtime.
  • Big kitchen with lots of storage: The Bailey Pegasus II Ancona has a big kitchen with plenty of storage. It’s more than big enough for a family of 6. As well as a sink, a 4-burner hob, a fridge, a microwave, an oven, and a grill, there is a cupboard, one average-sized locker, and two large lockers. You have all the storage that you need in this kitchen and more.

There are other benefits to note about this caravan too. For example, the bathroom is relatively spacious for a caravan of this size and more than big enough for a family with young children. I love this caravan and feel that it’s a bargain for under £10,000.

Elddis Avanté 636 (2014)

The Elddis Avanté 636 is a mid-range twin-axle 6 berth caravan. Depending on where you look, you can find the Avanté 636 for as little as £9,000. However, it really does depend on where you are looking.

This is one of the most versatile family caravans, in my opinion. It offers flexibility without sacrificing practicality. For example, having the two fixed bunks but also a large dinette that converts into a large double bed. This is a caravan that will meet the requirements of your family for a long time, rather than just a few years while your children are young.

Here are some of the notable features that make this caravan great:

  • Massive front sofa: One of the best features of the Elddis Avanté 636 is the capacious seating area at the front of the caravan. The seating area is suitably large for the entire family and the upholstery is certainly impressive. This is possibly the best seating that you will find in a caravan available for under £10,000.
  • Versatile sleeping options: The Avanté 636 is very flexible when it comes to sleeping arrangements. Flexibility and practicality are two of the key benefits of the 636. For example, the front seating can be used as two singles or a massive double bed. On the practical side of things, there are fixed bunks at the rear, perfect for younger children and ideal for quickly getting the tots to bed. There’s a dinette opposite the kitchen that converts into a large double bed, suitable for occasional guests or a teenage child.
  • Full width washroom: At the rear of the caravan, you will find a full width washroom. The washroom isn’t massive, but it has a full size shower, a large wardrobe, heating system, and a toilet. You don’t often find the heating system integrated into the bathroom, so this is a nice little extra you won’t find in most tourers. All in all, this full width bathroom offers most you’d find at home in your caravan.

This caravan also has a lovely kitchen with everything you need, including a large fridge and a microwave. Some caravans also have the optional extractor fan, which is a great feature to have if you’ll be creating meals in your caravan. If you can find an Avanté 636 for under 10k, you’re onto a winner.

Conclusion: There’s A 6 Berth For All Under 10K

Although it might beggar belief, there are some brilliant caravans available for under 10k. There’s also a caravan for everyone. The 4 caravans mentioned above are all unique and offer different benefits. Are any of them perfect for you?

Hopefully this blog post has helped you find a great 6 berth caravan under 10k. Let me know in the comments if you choose to purchase any of these and how much it cost you!
