Compass Campervan Dimensions (Updated for 2021)

When looking to purchase a campervan, the dimensions should be one of the first things you look at. Knowing the dimensions means you know the limitations and potential restrictions of the campervan you are considering purchasing. As well as this, many sites throughout not just the UK, but Europe, often ask you for dimensions when you try to book a stay in your campervan, so they are a handy thing to know.

Below will be some information regarding the dimensions, such as the overall height, length and MTPLM, of the Compass range of campervans.

The Compass range of campervans seek to offer the user nothing but comfort and convenience. Whilst the four models differ in at least some way, be it frame or interior, each is designed to ensure the buyer has the upmost relaxation when utilising the product.

If you wish to view a specific model, then please look to the links below:

Avantgarde CV20 Dimensions

The Avantgarde CV20 is, as described by Compass themselves, “the perfect campervan for singles or couples”. The rear of the campervan is made up by two, long-stretching couches that can be easily converted into a double bed, or used as two single beds as they are, depending on your preference as the buyer.

With a ‘Syracuse’ upholstery, the CV20 boasts a clean interior that, though limited by a campervan frame, encompasses the entirety of the buyer’s needs. With a kitchen, a shower powered by the new, and excellent, CompleteHeat system and a half height wardrobe amongst many other features. A choice of an optional exterior colour only furthers the level of customisation the buyer has over their product.

The specifications of the Avantgarde CV20 are, of course, extensive. Below though are a number of the most important specifications of the vehicle.

The Avantgarde CV20 sells from an initial price of around £41,000, making it one of Compass’ cheaper listings amongst the entirety of their catalogue.

The floorplan helps provide evidence for the aforementioned claim that, though fairly compressed in space, the CV20 does more than enough to encompass the features it provides.

Avantgarde CV40 Dimensions

The Avantgarde CV40, the second in the four strong line of Compass campervans, is defined as a three-birthed, high top campervan. Perhaps its most noticeable difference to its predecessor is the small, yet ideal, dining area that too converts into a single bed, which would allow to buyer to travel with a larger party, an understandably strong buying point.

As well as the newly included dining area, the CV40 too contains every aspect of the CV20 that made it such a success. With a tidy, carpentry designed interior that encompasses the rear located living/sleeping area that you may come to expect from the Avantgarde line.

Though it comes with more than the CV20, these features are contained within the same specifications as the earlier model. Of course, this could be viewed as an issue, as there is clearly more packed into the same space. However, this should be viewed as a positive, as you will still have a comfortable living experience with enough seating to incorporate a larger travelling group.

With the addition of the new seating area, it means that the floorplan of the CV40 when compared to the CV20 is slightly different, as you will be able to tell:

It is worth noticing that, instead of detracting from an already fairly small kitchen size, the newly added seating area takes space from the rear living area. As such, the buyer would not lose any space from their kitchen portion of the campervan, only losing space from a seating section that is still inhabitable, and one that is still spacious enough to comfortably sleep in.

Whilst the new feature is a noticeable difference, it will not prove to be a particularly costly change, as the starting price of the CV40 is only about £600 more than the CV20, listing at a price closer to £42,000 than £41,000.

Avantgarde CV60 Dimensions

The CV60 contains a rear area that is defined as “a comfy daybed which converts to a double bed for a perfect night’s sleep”.

A small, yet noticeable addition to the CV60 is the inclusion of a pull out table near the driving area. This is a slight variation to the CV40, as instead of having a new seating area, the CV60 perhaps better utilises the small frame it beholds, offering a smaller yet just as useable flattop that takes up far less of the campervan capacity.

Also, instead of the seating area offered in the CV40, alongside the small table comes a fairly sizeable surface, which is evident in the left of the above image, compensating for the space previously utilised by the CV40 front seating space.

With a slight difference in the front half of the campervan, it could perhaps be expected that the rear would too bear a change or two. As you will see in the below image, the rear of the campervan comes with a single sofa that can convert into a double bed, as opposed to two separate sofas that can be combined into a bed.

Also, as you will be able to see, next to this sofa is yet another surface top/storage unit, that allows for further capacity when travelling. The CV60 seems to be one of the Compass campervans better suited to solo, or duo, travel, as much of the vehicle allows for storage with only one truly convenient sleeping area, as opposed to the CV20 or CV40, which can offer at least two separate sleeping spaces each.

As you will be able to tell with the floorplan image below, the difference in layout imposed by the different structuring of the vehicle makes for a noticeable change within this plan when comparing it with the above floorplans.

Avantgarde CV80 Dimensions

The most expensive of the four, the CV80 comes in at a price of around £47,000, a noticeable increase on the previous iterations by about £6,000.

The justification for this, though, seems fairly valid, given that in terms of how many people the camper can carry, it is the most luxurious. The CV80 is able to carry four campers, with the van carrying a pop-top model, newly fashioned by Erwin Hymer Group.

The upper level of the campervan is something that is easy to organise, which is of course, a massively positive aspect of the design. As well as this, the two sofas at the rear of the campervan convert into the double bed you may have come to expect within the Compass design. As well as this, the CV80 too incorporates the convertible seating area at the front of the camper that resembles the one within the CV40.

So, whilst four people may sound like a large travel party, the CV80 ensures that there is enough space, for sleeping or otherwise, for such a number.

The CV80 maintains the standard features of a Compass campervan that have made each of them so reliable. A CompleteHeat system to ensure the finest waterworks within your camper.

Arguably, the CV80 encompasses the best aspects of the Compass campervans. As well as the added bonus of the pop-top, the CV80 has the seating area first seen in the CV40, the pull-out table of the CV60, and the double rear seating area of the CV20. By doing this, Compass have enriched their market by offering a model with each of the best aspects within the previous models.

When looking at this, it is hard to disagree with the increased price tag. Not only does it offer the buyer some of Compass’ best features, but it does so within the same specifications of the CV80’s predecessors.
