Does The Caravan Club Accept Folding Campers?

If you want cheaper access to hundreds of campsites across the UK and the host of other benefits associated with joining the Caravan and Motorhome Club (previously known as the Caravan Club), you probably wonder if they accept folding campers. Prior to purchasing my folding camper, I researched this to make sure I could join the club and enjoy each and every benefit in the same way a caravan owner would.

Does the Caravan and Motorhome Club (Caravan Club) accept folding campers? Yes, the Caravan Club accepts folding campers despite what the name of the club suggests. You’ll enjoy all the benefits of membership a caravan or motorhome owner does.

Are you a folding camper owner thinking about joining the Caravan and Motorhome Club? I’m going to give a bit of background on what the Caravan and Motorhome Club is and explain some of the benefits of membership you may be unaware of.

What Is The Caravan And Motorhome Club?

The Caravan and Motorhome Club is one of the organisations representing caravan and motorhome owners in the UK and Ireland. Of course, the Caravan and Motorhome Club also represents the owners of folding campers and trailer tents in addition to caravans and motorhomes.

The Caravan and Motorhome Club exists to help its members get more from holidaying in their unit. For example, members have exclusive access to thousands of sites in the UK and Ireland known as Certified Locations (CLs). These sites are certified as meeting the high standards set out by The Caravan and Motorhome Club, so members can use these sites confident that the site will meet their needs.

As a member of The Caravan and Motorhome Club, you’ll have access to numerous exclusive sites across the UK, you’ll be able to take advantage of several discounts from affiliates of the club, and you’ll also be able to take out insurance tailored to the needs of members.

Next I’m going to explain some of the benefits that folding camper owners will enjoy by joining The Caravan and Motorhome Club.

Benefits Of Joining The Caravan and Motorhome Club

There are plenty of benefits to joining a club. The Caravan and Motorhome Club is one of the biggest in the UK, so there’s plenty of benefits to choosing this one.

Here are some of the main benefits of joining The Caravan and Motorhome Club.

Member Offers

By joining The Caravan and Motorhome Club, you’ll gain access to several member offers. If you make the most of the member offers available, you’ll end up saving a lot of money despite the Club’s annual membership fee.

One offer that you’ll enjoy is big savings when stopping at many sites in the UK. According to The Caravan and Motorhome Club’s website, members save £140 on average when using one of their special offers. When membership only costs £54 a year at the time of writing, you’ve more than got your money back after only one holiday a year! This isn’t the only offer available to members either.

As well as the discounts offered on sites, clubs also work with affiliates that can result in savings for you. For example, some clubs work with insurers to get you cost-effective insurance for your belongings and folding camper. The Caravan and Motorhome Club in particular offers several types of insurance tailored to members, such as car insurance, overseas holiday insurance, and breakdown cover. With a club, you’ll usually find cheaper insurance than you’ll find anywhere else.

The Caravan and Motorhome Club works with several groups operating in the UK that can mean big discounts for members. For example, Haven Holidays offer Club members an exclusive deal at multiple of their sites in the UK. According to The Caravan Club website, you’ll have access to savings on over 1,000 amazing UK attractions as part of being a member. Who wouldn’t want these member offers?!

Access To Thousands Of Campsites

The big clubs, such as The Caravan and Motorhome Club, have a large network of campsites across the UK. By joining The Caravan and Motorhome Club, you’ll have access to over 2,700 sites in the UK and Europe. You’ll also be able to stop at these sites for cheaper than you’d get by booking anywhere else! On average, members save £140 per year when staying at Club sites, according to the Caravan Club website. If you use your folding camper a lot, the savings could be massive.

All sites under the management of The Caravan and Motorhome Club follow uniform standards. If you’d like to visit consistently high-standard sites every time you holiday, that’s what you’ll get when visiting a Club site.

As well as having access to hundreds of Club-owned or managed sites, you’ll also get access to thousands of smaller privately owned sites. A certificated location is a privately owned site for up to 5 caravans (folding campers are usually classed as caravans here). The cost of pitching overnight at a certificated location is usually much cheaper than the pitching cost at a larger caravan site. You’ll also tent to have a better experience since the certificated locations are much smaller than your average site. To use these certified locations, you must be a member of the Caravan and Motorhome Club.

Access To The Club’s Forums

As a member of The Caravan and Motorhome Club, you’ll get access to the Club forum. With access to the Club’s forum, you’ll be a part of possibly the biggest camping community on the internet, where you’ll find discussion on caravans, folding campers, and a range of other units.

Having access to the Club’s forums is one of the biggest advantages of joining The Caravan and Motorhome Club in my opinion. There’s plenty of knowledge to be found on the forums, with new tips and advice submitted by the forum’s over 400,000 members every single day. If you ever need any advice and tips, you’ll be able to post your questions on the forum and get it answered by literally thousands of experienced members.

Having access to the forums will really help you to enjoy your experiences in your folding camper more than ever. There’s a large folding camper community to be found on The Caravan and Motorhome Club forums, so you’ll have plenty of people to talk to about your experiences. If you have a question, chances are it’s been answered on these forums.

Technical Advice From Experts

If you join The Caravan and Motorhome Club, you will have access to a team of experts that can offer you great advice and help you to overcome any technical difficulties. We all have issues with our folding campers or caravans sometimes, so it’s nice to have this support to fall back on if you need it.

The expert team at The Caravan and Motorhome Club primarily help with – you guessed it – caravan and motorhome problems. However, some technical issues that occur with a caravan are similar to those that will occur with a folding camper. For example, using an electric hook up with a folding camper is very similar to how you would use one with a caravan. For general issues like this, you can rely on the technical advice available from The Caravan and Motorhome Club team.
