Wingamm Caravan Dimensions (Updated for 2021)

The dimensions of a caravan are usually one of the first things to look at when considering which one to buy. This information about the vehicle is a common concern that buyers face due to the restrictions when it comes to the length, height and weight of the motorhome. This is why it is important to know the dimensions of your caravan, especially since so many sites within the UK and Europe ask for the dimensions of your vehicle when booking.

Below, I have included three pieces of important information: overall length, overall width, and overall weight.

Micro-caravans are prefect for solo travellers or even for couples as they are ideal for towing behind a small car. The Wingamm Rookie 3.5 is perfect for this. It offers a good lounge and dining space, a 1.96m-long double bed, kitchen and washroom facilities. Although it may sound like squeezing all this into such a small caravan is difficult, Wingamm have done this perfectly without making the space inside feel cramped. The standard kit can be upgraded by a host of options, however the standard kit iv very lightweight and can be towed by a variety of small cars.

This Rookie’s GRP bodyshell is fitted to an Al-Ko chassis with an AKS hitch stabiliser. Although there is no A-frame cover, the alloy wheels bring a lot of class to this small caravan. This model also has large and sturdy stainless-steel handles at the front and back, allowing easy manoeuvring onto a pitch.

The front lounge area is quite small, but by no means cramped as mentioned previously. It has a small sunroof and two large side windows which allow in natural light and ventilation. for the night, there are two centrally mounted LED lights on the front panel with LED strip lights over each side window, creating a cosy yet well illuminated space.

The Wingamm Rookie 3.5’s kitchen is stripped down to the very basics in order to fit into a small space comfortably, but this doesn’t effect it’s practicality. The entrance door side of the kitchen is where the twin-burner hob is located, sharing the same stainless steel unit as the sink. On the opposite side is a Dometic 70-litre fridge, plus a mains socket and an additional worktop area.

The washroom is located at the back of the caravan where there is the most height, allowing the bathroom to feel much more spacious. It is a very well fitted washroom. It has a large hand basin with a cupboard below as well as a shower tray and a Dometic flush toilet. There is also a small transparent side window to allow light in.

The Wingamm Rookie L is an impressive four-berth caravan that packs a lot into its modest footprint. Just like the Wingamm Rookie 3.5, this model is also very good at making a small space feel much larger than it is, however the Wingamm Rookie L, is more in larger in size, allowing it more room to add more impressive features. Built on an Al-Ko chassis, the Rookie L is equipped with an AKS hitch to aid stability, and shock absorbers to help when towing.

The U-shaped front lounge creates is a fantastic space to be sociable and spend time with your travel companions. It has firm but comfortable seating and can easily accommodate four.

The kitchen has a slightly curved design and a good amount of storage. It has a 70-litre slim Dometic fridge and a two-burner stainless-steel glass-topped hob, with a large stainless-steel sink. to create more kitchen space, the hob’s glass top canbe lowered which creates more room. The Wingamm Rookie L’s kitchen is lit by LEDs and there is a mains socket on the front of the kitchen cabinet. In terms of storage the Rookie L has lots to offer. There is a pair of overhead lockers, as well as a large cupboard and three drawers.

One of the most impressive features of the micro Wingamm Rookie 3.5 is its spacious corner washroom. The Rookie L also has this, and in addition there is enough floor area for it to be used as a changing room too. The shower is circular and has a curtain. It also has an electric-flush Dometic toilet and a deep hand basin. Below the basin there is more storage space and, above, there’s a mirrored cupboard.

Here are some of my favourite caravan and RV essentials

Thanks for reading this blog post. I hope you’ve found it super useful and that you’re loving your tourer as much as I love mine! Here are some blog posts I’ve written with my recommendations for gear and certain essentials you’ll need as a caravan or RV owner. These posts do contain affiliate links, so I’ll earn a small commission if you purchase anything. But honestly, all of the essentials I’ve recommended below are things I actually use myself! These are essentials I think all caravan and motorhome owners should have, and I never recommend anything I haven’t tried and tested.

Caravan insurance: Caravan insurance is absolutely crucial for protecting your precious tourer, even if it isn’t a legal requirement! I use Caravan Guard myself and would wholeheartedly recommend them to everyone, including my family and friends. All my interactions with them have been great when I’ve needed help, and they’re reasonable too. Specialist cover for folding campers and trailer tents. Caravan Guard gives you cover for storm, theft, accidental damage or vandalism under their touring caravan insurance policy. Get a quote today.

Low-wattage kettles: Wherever you’re travelling, and if you love a cuppa as much as I do, a low-wattage kettle is an absolute must. You can’t use standard power-hogging kettles on sites or you’ll blow the fuses — especially if you’re travelling in Europe. So these are some of my favourite low-wattage kettles designed for caravans and motorhomes. I’ve tried all of the kettles I recommend and think they’re all brilliant in different ways, so you’d be happy with any of them.

Portable heaters: A portable heater that doesn’t consume a ton of power is something I can’t go without when I’m touring. If you’re like me and you tour any time of the year, no matter the weather, a portable heater for your awning is a must. I’ve written a post with some of my favourite awning heaters — all of which I’ve used. I’ve picked these considering criterion such as power consumption, portability, and safety features. They’re all excellent, as well as reasonably priced!
