An awning can be described as an attachment that is much like a tent. It can be attached to your caravan, motorhome or campervan to provide extra space for storage, living, or it can even be used as an extra bedroom. There are many different types of awning available such as full awnings, porch awnings and canopy or cassette awnings. Whichever type of awning you’re looking for, it’s important to know the awning size of your caravan as each model requires a different size in order for it to attach on to your caravan properly.

Xplore 304 Awning Sizes (2022 Model)

This section compiles the awning sizes of the Xplore 304 caravan. The sizes I’ve listed are:

The Xplore 304 may be small in size, but that doesn’t stop it from having a very impressive specification. This caravan model has endless amounts of storage space thanks to its innovative underslung heating. The Xplore 304 is equally popular as a 2 or 4 berth, and is one of Xplore’s best seller. This is perfect caravan for anyone on the hunt for a compact yet practical caravan that doesn’t compromise on anything.

This carvan has a single front window which shows that the Xplore 304 has the same quality of bodywork construction as every other caravan that is part of the Elddis production line. This model is fully bonded, including a GRP underskin which can with hold anything that it may encounter while on the go. This caravan also has door with full fly screen, and makes amazing use of every inch of space within this compact caravan. It may be 20cm short of 4m, however it has an L-shaped lounge at the front, and in the back it has a double dinette with table, and a compact washroom that still manages to offer showering, toileting and handwashing facilities.

To add some home comfort and style to the caravan, you can find cushions and curtains (called Maluku) inside the Xplore 304, as well as a lift-up shelf; plus sockets for TV; to the offside picture window; which, like the other double-glazed units, has a roller blind with fly screen fitting. The kitchen takes up the mid-‘van zone of the Xplore 304, with a new Dometic 10 series fridge on the offside, set beneath a full-sized  wardrobe.

In that main kitchen unit, there are the levels of facilities you’d expect in a much larger caravan, such as a three-ring gas hob as well as a sink in matching black enamel. It also has a Thetford Duplex combined oven and grill allowing you to you cook anything you want in this compact and lightweight caravan.

The Xplore 422 is another impressively spacious 2 berth model. This lightweight caravan is extremely easy to tow, yet is described as ‘tardis-like’ on the inside! The open and roomy feeling lounge converts into a large double bed, with a fully equipped side-bathroom and a beautifully lit kitchen and dresser spanning the rear of this impressive model. Just like the Xplore 304, it is another perfect caravan for anyone on the hunt for a compact yet practical caravan.

Just like the more expensive Elddis branded caravans, the Xplore 422 is produced using the SoLiD construction method, which uses the same techniques used in the car and aviation industries to form a fully-bonded bodyshell. This means that water cannot get into the body of the caravan. One of the Xplore 422’s biggest attractions is its weight, as the majority of all small to medium sized cars are able to easily and safely tow it’s weight. 

The lounge in this caravan is a lot bigger than you’ll find in most fixed-bed caravans, and it’s impressively comfy. It has and end kitchen with is important for making this small space seem a lot more roomy. Most two-berth caravans have an end washroom that clearly needs to be closed off, thus restricting your living space. In addition to this the decor is also impressive, with the curtains and scatter cushions providing the perfect amount of colour that complements the subtle grey upholstery and light wood colour of the furniture.

The Xplore 422 is also very practical, with plenty of storage for a couple. The space-saving Whale heating system, which runs under the floor, works on gas or electric, and it’s highly efficient, making this caravan perfect to use under any kind of weather conditions all year round. The kitchen is L-shaped, and has plenty of cost-saving elements. It also has a number of curved bank of overhead lockers and roomy cupboards which provide more than enough storage space.

As one of the most popular layouts, the Xplore 554 benefits from a large and comfortable retractable transverse island bed, with a well-equipped bathroom spanning the full width at the rear. It has a bright airy lounge which also has a double bed at for the nights. This is an amazing caravan for anyone on the hunt for a practical and comfortable caravan to use on family trip or adventures with a small group of people.

The lounge in the Xplore 554 has exceptionally bright LED clusters are set into the ceiling, giving off the perfect white light. There is also a white LED strip set into the woodwork under the front head-height lockers, which adds extra illumination over the pull-out table and makes the caravan look much cosier during the evenings when you want dimmer lighting. There is also plenty of daylight, thanks to the full-width single piece front windows. The Xplore 554 has a dining table that can be easily removed and replaced into its clips on the wall of the larger wardrobe for when you need some extra space.

The interior of this caravan shows off a yellow, pale grey and charcoal bold roundel pattern on the cushions and the curtains and has a calm, plain seating fabric. These furnishings look and feel a lot more luxurious than the price suggests. Another thing that contributes to the elegant look of the Xplore 554, is the high quality charcoal grey piping around the edges of all the seating units, armrests, cushions and on the lower edges of the curtain tie backs.

The Xplore 554 comes with fixed beds that have mattresses made using the Ozio layered fibre technology which feels both firm enough and yielding enough to be comfortable, ensuring night time comfort for all your travel companions. The triple layer construction is designed to retain heat during cold weather and keep you cool in warm weather, by dispelling moisture. One of this caravan’s biggest storage asset is the bed, which has a space of 1.38m deep and 1.33m across.

The Xplore 585 is well know for how much of a flexible, family friendly caravan it is. The front lounge has parallel seating which can be perfect for mealtimes. It can also be converted into a sizeable double bed. The L-Shape rear lounge is an amazing space for children to make use of and play in. In addition to this, the rear lounge can be made into a double bed, with or without the pop-up bunk above, or it can be used as a single bed with pop-up bunk. This flexibility allows you to alternate, depending on who you’re travelling with.

The entire Xplore range is one of the most innovative lightweight value caravan ranges available on the market today. Every model and layout is compact, yet this small size still allows these caravan to feel spacious and feature ingenious storage within.
